My experience in North Bay
Everybody here got some experiences in North Bay. I got three good experiences. First, I improved my English. Second, I met new friends and finally, I got a good experience of life.

First of all, I came here to learn English, but I realized just a part of my goal because I’m not bilingual yet, but I’m happy with what I learned. Since the beginning, I improved my English a lot. With this experience, I’ll recommend to everybody to come in North Bay, but also they’ll have to talk with English people and don’t be shy.

Second, when I arrived here I was the only one from my city. I knew Marie-Michelle on the internet, but not more. Since I’m here, I met a lot of friends and after this year I’ll continue to have contact with all of them. My year in North Bay is very good for my future because people I met here will be in my life for always.

Third, before my year here, I had never been far of my family. At the beginning it was really hard, but I learned to be more independent. With my people around I learned to be less shy and my confidence in myself is higher. These positive things that I learned here will be useful in my future life.

Finally, I’ll remember everybody here and all what we did together. My opinion to come in North Bay is really positive. I’ll say to everybody to come here to learn English because it’s a great School.

My opinion about cities and towns....

Big City vs. Small Town
What is the best, living in a small town or in a big city? Both have advantages and disadvantages, but in my opinion, live in a small town is better. Certainly, in a big city you have more services, but at the same times the services are often less better. In a small town, it’s more quiet and peaceful than in a big city. In a big city, the crimes are more regular than in a town; four crimes on five are product in a city. It’s better to live in a town for many reasons that affect the moral and the physical health. Have you decided which is better? The best for me is life in a small town because the services are better; it’s safer and better for the health.

1. Better quality of services: -The peoples are more time to take care of the people.
- All the people know you, and he can talk with the
customers.

2. Safer: -fewer criminals when it’s smaller.
-The ambiance in a town is more peaceful.
-All the people know you.

3. Better for the health: -Fewer pollution
-Less contagious illness
-Fewer stress


In conclusion, a small town is better than a big city because it gives the better services, it’s safer and it’s better for the health. Big cities have a lot of advantages that the town doesn’t have. In my opinion, a town is better, but that depend of which job you do or which hobby you like to do. In the future, where would you live, in a big city or in a small town?

A Friend from another country

Alma is a Mexican girl and she is eighteen years old. I met Alma this year because she is my classmate in ESL Program, but she’s not only a classmate she’s I also a very good friend for me. She’s always there when I need her and she’s really nice with everybody. She has another race, but she is similar to me. She doesn’t have the same habits than me because in her country it’s really different than here.

Many people think that people from other countries are different and they have to stay in their country, but now I have the proof that’s false and it’s a bad way to think. Here, I met many people from other countries and they are identical to me, we have just little differences with our physic. I’m happy to come here because now I have the opportunity to stop racism people.

A Picture Important in my Life

Since few years, I took many pictures of myself, my friends and the nature. If I look at all the pictures I took since I bought my digital camera, there is one that I prefer. This picture is very important for me because of the simplicity and the beauty. It’s a trail in the bush. For me, the trail is like the cycle of life. The nature means the liberty, the calm and the purity. Also, the bush is a place to relax and to take the time to think. When I look at this picture I’m not concentrated on anything because I begin to think about many things that happened before in my life. It’s for all these reasons that this picture is important for me. I will continue to take these kinds of pictures because I like the photography.

Have you ever thinking about what happen with the animals in the world. If no, it’s the time to do because the animals are endangered. I think that it’s an urgent cause. Many animals are endangered and the cause is humans.

The deforestation is a big cause of the disappearance of many animals because they lose their natural habitat. The big problem is that many companies cut a lot of trees and they don’t think about animals. The result is that many animals are dying because they need that to live.

Second, another problem in the world is the pollution. The pollution is caused by humans, but it’s too a cause of the Global Warming. The Global Warming is really dangerous for the fauna. It affect not just the natural habitat but too the alimentation and all of their habits. Many animals can’t change all of these and are dying.

Humans want a big technological advancement and to do this they do terrible test on many animals. Humans think never about the animals. They think that because they can’t defend their cause that they can do anything. With this unnecessary experiment the animal’s life is often change.

In my opinion, animals have right to live in peace like us. We must open our eyes because we are putting the fauna’s life endangered. Humans don’t think about their life and not of animals’ life. We must do something and thinking about fauna before making changes in the world.

Dogs and Cats are very similar but they aren’t the same. These kinds of animal are very intelligent. A dog has a good sense of smell whereas a cat has a good sight. Unlike a dog, a cat doesn’t like water. Cats are more usually in a apartment than dogs dog is an affective mammal. In contrast, a cat is more independent. Both cat and dog need love and affection by their owner. They can stay alone in the house, but a dog needs more things to amuse itself. They can learn some tricks, but their intelligence and the level of these tricks differ. On the other hand, they are the same because a dog and a cat are living beings that can communicate, and a dog has soft fur, just as soft as cat. All in all, they are different, but they are almost the same.

An Unforgettable Event

When I began to work as a police officer, I entered a big house because I had a call for a suicide. I remembered just when I entered the living room. The smell was very strong and I felt nauseous. I heard a cry of a kid and the air tasted strange. It was really disgusting. When I began to look at the scene, I saw the child who was crying. I could see a cat between the child and a dead person. On the couch was the dead body, and he was full of blood. I look away fast the couch because my heart couldn’t support that. Beyond the couch, there was a big setting with many pictures of a beautiful family was on the wall. I went to sit on the coffee table and when I touched the table it was really moist. I understood that the taste was the humidity and the smell of death. I continued to look at the picture and my attention changed direction because a beautiful parrot was screaming in his cage. On the bottom of the cage were a lot of seeds and dust. I couldn’t remember other details because I passed out. It was too much for me. This event will stay in my memory all my life because it was the first time that I had seen something like that.

A Nice Surprise!!

A friend called me to eat to the restaurant for her mother’s birthday and for my birthday in same time. She said to me ’’ don’t be shy because it will have just my family’’ then I accepted with pleasure. The day of the dinner, I was working then before to go to meet my friend’s family I took a shower. I arrived too late at my appointment. When I came in the restaurant I saw my friend with a lot of people, but her mother wasn’t there. When they saw me they are beginning to sing me ‘’Happy Birthday song’’. I was so surprise. While we are eating the dinner, they give me a beautiful gift. It was a big box homemade with many pictures on it. They had put a lot of candy into. I was so happy to receive something like that. Since this time when I miss my friends I look at my box and I remember all of them.

A Person Who Made a Difference...

Michel Pageau made a difference in the animal world for two reasons. First of all, in his life the animals are always been his interest, but now the animals aren’t just that for him it’s too his hobby of everyday. He did a refuge to help his passion. He fights to preserve the fauna of Quebec. In his refuge, he takes care of sick, hurt and cripples animals that everybody brings to him. He devotes all of his time for them with his wife. Secondly, he does many things only for the ease of the fauna. He does often speech about the respect to the nature. He doesn’t do that to do profit or popularity, so he is always on research of grant because everything that he needs to take care of the animals aren’t cheap. Michel Pageau is the proof that everybody can help the world with his personal touch.
